On Aug. 10, 2023, Prof Geng visited GSI (Geospatial Information Authority) in Japan and gave talk on the IGS activities in Wuhan University as an analysis center. Dr. Akiyama from Jaxa talked about the MADOCA software used for the Jaxa/GSI contribution to the IGS. GSI gave a presentation on the GEONET and the REGARD system on real-time GNSS for geohazard monitoring. Prof Ohta from Tohoku University talked about the application of GNSS in earthquake/tsunami early warning. In the afternoon, they also visited a VLBI site outside Tsukuba.
