Prof. Jianghui Geng and Doctor Qiang Wen from the PrideLab were invited to deliver an online short course titled "2024 Multi-GNSS Precise Point Positioning and PRIDE PPP-AR Short Course" at EarthScope Consortium from September 10 to 12, 2024. The short course drew more than 100 participants from around the world, who learned the basic principles of GNSS PPP-AR data processing, the introductions of IGS high-precision product service, the features and usage of the open-source software PRIDE PPP-AR, and its application in scientific research.
The EarthScope Consortium is a non-profit university collaborative that supports innovative geophysical research and education on a global scale. It is funded by the NSF and supported by the NASA and the USGS. It was formed in 2023 by merging the former IRIS and UNAVCO, two leading organizations in seismology and geodesy research. The consortium aims to enhance the public understanding of the Earth processes and their impacts.
This was the fourth time that our group offered such a short course. The main focuses of this year’s course are the new processing strategy in multi-day data processing to mitigate the discontinuity at day-boundary and the function supporting GNSS data from LEO satellites for the new version of software, PRIDE PPP-AR v3.0. These new features will be helpful to time and frequency transfer and kinematic orbit determination of LEO satellites.
The open source software PRIDE PPP-AR v3.0 developed by the PrideLab has been updated on GitHub(https://github.com/PrideLab/PRIDE-PPPAR/tree/master). The videos of the short courses in 2024 are available at:
