Experts from Indonesian Geospatial Government Agencies Visit for Academic Exchange — Special Session at Innovation Academy for Precision Measurement Science and Technology, CAS

    On November 15, 2024, a delegation from the Indonesian Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) visited the Institute of Precision Measurement Science and Technology Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as "Precision Measurement Institute") and conducted academic exchanges with the Chinese side in Conference Room 206, Building 3. A number of experts from BMKG, the Indonesian National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Indonesian Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) participated in the meeting, Including BMKG Rahmat Triyono, Supriyanto Rohadi, Ajat Sudrajat, Retno Agung Prasetyo Kambali, Thomas Hardy and Brilian Tatag Samapta, BRIN's Susilo, and BIG's Muhammad Al Kautsar.

    Academician Sun Heping and Academician Ni Sidao of the Institute of Precision Measurement delivered welcome speeches, Director Li Jun, Associate Researcher Li Guangcai and Postdoctoral Researcher Wen Qiang of the Science and Technology Division of the Institute of Precision Measurement, and Dr. Zhang Kunlun of the Satellite Navigation and Positioning Technology Research Center of Wuhan University attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Researcher Geng Jianghui of the Institute of Precision Measurement.

    Researcher Geng Jianghui first delivered the opening speech, warmly welcomed the visit of the Indonesian experts, and introduced the relevant work of the Precision Measurement Institute. Subsequently, the representatives of the two sides introduced the research results and technological progress of their respective institutions. The content covers the geological application of PRIDE-PPP-AR software, GSeisRT software and its application in earthquake monitoring in Indonesia, Beidou seismometer combined with hr-GNSS and accelerometer, and the status report of the Indonesian Tsunami Early Warning System (InaTEWS).

    During the discussion session, the two sides discussed how the CAS/WHU and BMKG can strengthen cooperation in the future. The meeting ended successfully in a happy atmosphere and took a group photo. The meeting not only deepened the technical exchanges between China and Indonesia in the field of earthquake and tsunami warning, but also laid a solid foundation for future scientific research cooperation between the two sides.
