On September 9, 2018, the Seismogeodesy Workshop was successfully held at the Center for Satellite Navigation and Positioning Technology, Wuhan University. The meeting was hosted by the Center for Satellite Navigation and Positioning Technology of Wuhan University, the Youth Scientific and Technological Work Committee of the Chinese Seismological Society and the Special Committee on Crustal Deformation of the Chinese Seismological Society. 30 experts and more than 20 students from China Seismological Bureau (Institute of Seismology, Institute of Geophysics, Institute of Engineering, Seismological Network Center), China University of Science and Technology, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Hong Kong University of Technology, University of Oregon, Peking University, Wuhan University attended the seminar.
The themes of the conference include the research frontiers of seismic geodetic survey at home and abroad. The space-to-Earth observation technology monitors the movement and deformation of the active block boundary zone, and its potential application in earthquake monitoring and early warning. The layout optimization of GNSS monitoring network and the application of space-to-Earth observation technology in the theory and practice of earthquake early warning waiting to be solved.
The important value of seismic geodetic research was fully affirmed by Liu Jingnan's speech at the conference. Professor Geng Jianghui of Wuhan University gave a general introduction to the conference. Twelve reports were presented on seismic slip distribution inversion, ground motion displacement estimation, co-seismic-post-seismic deformation, GNSS and strong earthquake observation and data application, earthquake and tsunami warning, post-earthquake space-time evolution and Coulomb stress. Professor Geng Jianghui and the researcher of the Institute of Geophysics, China Earthquake Administration, Wang Baoshan made a summary of the meeting. The meeting was heated and applauded continuously, and the experts attending the meeting had a full exchange. This conference has been a complete success.
