On March 4, 2023, the National Key Research and Development Program, "Earth Observation and Navigation" key special project, "Componentized Flexible Integrated Navigation and Control Key Technology and Application Verification" project initiating and implementation plan consultation meeting was held in Wuhan. The meeting was hosted by Wuhan University, the leading unit of the project, and chaired by Li Zhen, vice president of the Office of Scientific Research and Development of Wuhan University.

Vice President Tang Qizhu of Wuhan University, Academician Liu Jingnan, Xu Hong, Director of the "Earth Observation and Navigation" Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and other leaders and experts were invited to attend. Members of the project consulting expert group, Academician Yang Yuanxi of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Dang Yamin of the Chinese Academy of Surveying and Mapping, Professor Xu Tianhe of Shandong University, Professor Wang Bo of Beijing Institute of Technology, and Associate Professor Zhao Xiaoguang of Tsinghua University were invited to attend. The project leader, Professor Geng Jianghui from the Satellite Navigation and Positioning Technology Research Center of Wuhan University, the leaders of each project, and nearly 50 representatives from participating units attended the meeting.

On behalf of the school, Vice President Tang Qizhu first expressed his gratitude to the participating leaders and experts for their long-term support for the scientific research work of Wuhan University, and then conveyed the determination of Huang Taiyan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, and Academician Zhang Pingwen, the president of the school, to focus on the development of advantageous disciplines such as positioning and navigation of the school, and expressed that the school attaches great importance to the declaration and implementation of national key research and development projects, and will provide strong support for the implementation of this project.

Director Xu Hong first expressed her congratulations on the successful application of the project and her recognition of the work in the application stage of the project. For the excellent results in previous national key research and development projects, she expressed her affirmation of the Academician Liu Jingnan's team and the scientific research work of Wuhan University. She shows that the Ministry of Science and Technology has great confidence in the implementation of this project and will provide sufficient support and guarantee during the project implementation process.

Professor Geng Jianghui reported the overall situation and implementation plan of the project. Professor Geng Jianghui, Professor Wu Yuanxin, Professor Shi Hang and Professor Cheng Hui, the four subject leaders under the project, respectively reported on the implementation plan of each subject. The participating experts carefully considered and extensively discussed the content of the report, and put forward many useful opinions and suggestions on the future implementation and development of the project. The leader of the expert group, Academician Yang Yuanxi, on behalf of the members of the expert group, announced that they unanimously agreed with the implementation plan of the project.
